Oxidized jute as a valuable adsorbent for Congo Red from an aqueous solution

نویسندگان

چکیده

The raw jute fabric was oxidized with 0.2% or 0.4% NaIO 4 for 60 120 min to obtain valuable adsorbents the textile dye Congo Red (CR). Batch adsorption experiments were carried out as a function of solution pH, contact time, initial CR concentration, and temperature. At an concentration 25 mg/L, possessed lowest due availability content carboxyl aldehyde groups capable binding dye. fabrics reached equilibrium after 240 330 min, respectively. onto studied followed pseudo-second-order model indicating that chemisorption process is primarily represented. Within range concentrations (25–100 mg/L), its obeys Langmuir isotherm (i.e. occurs at specific, energetically equivalent adsorbent sites monolayer coverage over homogeneous surface), wherein calculated maximal capacity 12.863 mg/g. A thermodynamic study revealed spontaneous endothermic character fabric. Based on recorded ATR-FTIR spectra before adsorption, it suggested repulsion, hydrogen bonds, π-π stacking interactions are involved in fabrics.

Coal Ash as a Low Cost Adsorbent for the Removal of Xylenol Orange from Aqueous Solution

The removal ofxylenol orange from aqueous solution onto the coal ash was investigated at room temperature. The results show that the adsorption capacity of xylenol orange increased as the adsorption time increased and then equilibrium established after 30 min adsorption time. The results obtained revealed that the coal ash removed about 80 % of xylenol orange from the aqueous solution withi...
